Walking back to my car. Heavy feeling in my chest. My heart is in knots. It's made of stone. It's weak. Puttering out.
No hands. No touch. Head looking at the ground. Ashamed. Who am I? No. Who are you? Who are we? Lost in a sea of Bud Light. This couch seems very long now.
Can't go in that room. Memories. Not that one. Not that one, either. Everything makes my heart sink into my stomach.
"Stop it."
This is how it goes: I'll hang it in front of your face. I'll let it sit. But you won't ever reach it. Never. Maybe a taste, maybe a little bit. But never again. Never.
This is why I spite you, this is why I don't believe. Pain is pain is pain is pain. It's all the same, and it's all very real.
